African Drumming Workshop

As part of our work for Black History Month we were delighted to welcome in a drumming specialist for an African Drumming workshop, provided by Essex Music Hub. A number of classes were able to participate last week, the rest will have workshops next Friday.

Pupils followed the beat and explored different sounds they could make by tapping, scratching and hitting the middle/edge of the drum. They also learnt to play the base in the middle of the African drum and the tone at the edge of the drum. They played in beats of four and learnt to add a break.
